Croeso i ddosbarth 10!

Welcome back and we hope you had a lovely time off!

Blwyddyn newydd dda i ti!

This term we are learning about famous people from the past. These people will be from the Victorian era and we will be looking at how these people changed our lives for the better. This will be a cross-curricular topic, so this will feed into all of our learning within school until Easter break.

Here is a snapshot of our individual subject focuses for this term :-)

  • English - Biographical writing, reports and short stories
  • Maths - Fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as multiplication and division.
  • Welsh - Newyddion (News)
  • Science - Electricity
  • Topic - Famous People from the Past
  • RE - Pesach (Passover) and Easter.
  • PE - Swimming will be taking place every Monday until February half term.

Important things to remember:

  • Full school uniform everyday
  • Read your school reading book 5 times a week and get a grown-up to sign the reading diary.
  • Swimming is on a Monday,  so full swimming kit is required
  • Homework will be set on a Friday and will be returned on a Wednesday
  • Spellings will be done daily
  • Times tables will need to be learned - especially 2, 5 and 10s.

We are looking forward to what this term brings and I am sure you will all make us proud!

Diolch,

Miss Mattar and Mrs Webster

What's Being Said?

"I never thought that Westwood was so large inside! From the road, it seems so small. What a wonderful use of space. The school has changed so much over the years!" - recent visitor to school
