Class 5 2019 - 2020

Miss Bennett

Welcome back everyone!

We hope you've had a wonderful break and are now ready for an exciting first term.

This term our focus is famous people from the past; we will concentrate on the Tudor period.

Our genre focus to begin will be biographical writing. In Maths we will continue with number and work on simple fractions and decimals.  Please encourage your child to practice addition, subtraction, division and multiplication at home. If you make up two of each for your child each night it will make a positive difference.

Reading books have been sent out and it is very important that pupils read at home at least 3 times a week. Children, please ask an adult to listen to you read and record your reading in your reading record. Children who read 3 or more times a week will get their Bonus break on a Friday.

P.E will be on a Thursday  - Please bring your kit to school in a bag and leave it on your peg. A pair of pumps or trainers would be good as you will have some P.E outdoors weather permitting.

Spelling homework will be sent out on a Friday and must be completed and brought back in on a Monday ready for our weekly spelling test.

Thank you

Miss Bennett, Mrs Mattar and Mrs Braithwaite and Miss Jones

What's Being Said?

"I never thought that Westwood was so large inside! From the road, it seems so small. What a wonderful use of space. The school has changed so much over the years!" - recent visitor to school
