A warm welcome back to Westwood after our Christmas break. This is the platform we will use to share our amazing journey with you this year. We have lots of amazing topics to look forward to during the first part of the Spring Term term:

English- We will be looking at Science Fiction Stories- including the very famous book by Ted Hughes- The Iron Man. We also have our weekly spelling test every Friday morning

Maths- We will be developing our knowledge and understanding of estimation, length, weight/mass, capacity, area and perimeter. We will also be having our weekly times table test on a Friday along with problem solving activities.

Science- Earth and Space will be the topic we are investigating.

Welsh- Pod Antur 2 with Dyfs and Izzy!

ICT- Using our presentation skills within Microsoft Office programmes and research skills across the curriculum. Also we will be using several different applications on the iPad, including Stop Motion, iMovie and Pic Collage. Futhermore, we may also have an opportunity to use Flipgrid and link up with our Canadian friends that we met before Christmas.

PE- Swimming at Buckley Leisure Centre EVERY MONDAY AFTERNOON- please remember your swimming kit.

Geography- Wish you Were Here! We will be looking at Wales and the tourist spots around our beautiful country!

Design and Technology- This will be linked to our Science lessons as we will be creating one of the planets from the solar system.

Music- We will focus on music linked to space.

RE- The 10 Commandments.

We look forward to sharing our Year 4 journey with you! smiley

What's Being Said?

"I never thought that Westwood was so large inside! From the road, it seems so small. What a wonderful use of space. The school has changed so much over the years!" - recent visitor to school
