Class 7 2017 - 2018

Mrs Brown

Hello All,

Welcome back to the final term and the continuation of our Westwood adventures! It has been brilliant  listening to the children's stories about their activities over the Easter break and  fantastic to receive so many entries for the 'Extreme Reading' competition,  along with final drafts for the Welsh story.  A huge thank you to parents and guardians for time spent with your children helping them to complete the tasks for Eisteddfod.

Our theme of the Victorians will continue in History, we will move onto games in PE and Music will focus around our summer production of Oliver. Already in Geography, we have crossed the Atlantic Ocean to Iceland and we will be finding out more about this Nordic Island Country; the most sparcely populated in Europe. In Science this term we will  be looking at  Electricty and Forces

Please do look at the calendar on the school website to learn about all the forthcoming events, including the dates for the National Testing Window. Also, please remember to check your emails each day as a lot of communication from school is now paperless.

Children, do remember to bring in your P.E. kits on a Monday, ready to leave in school for the week's P.E. and wellbeing activities. Homework dates will be set on our return back to school. However, due to the revised date for Eisteddfod, the first week will be more about practising Sosban Fach, The Welsh Anthem and the house recitation (Mynd Yr Dre) at home .  Please do remember to keep up with your reading, at least ten minutes, on at least five occasions at home each week.

We look forward to seeing you bright and early when you return after Easter and to a positive start for  our final term. It will be fantastic to see our Westwood family together again and  we are excited at the prospect of hearing all about your Easter adventures.

Just a little bit of Roald Dahl to take us into the new term - something worth remembering!

What's Being Said?

"I never thought that Westwood was so large inside! From the road, it seems so small. What a wonderful use of space. The school has changed so much over the years!" - recent visitor to school
