Class 9 2019 - 2020

Mrs Brown

Helo Bawb,

I hope you are all well and following the advice surrounding social distancing. I must say that school is not the same without the Year 6 pupils in my classroom and I am missing the interaction with all of them already.  Please stay safe and keep yourselves healthy.

During the closure of school, please utilise the files in File Manager (below) to ensure continuity of learning.

  • The flexible timetable will offer you an idea of the time we recommend for each area of learning.
  •  QR codes for remote learning will take you directly to useful websites
  • The Homework Grid offers guidance for tasks and activities.

For Maths please use  https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/   There are super video tutorials and White Rose worksheets children can complete.  Answers can also be accessed which will enable children to check their work, giving opportunity to identify and self correct errors.

Maths -  Individual pupil passwords for MyMaths have been generated for all Year 6 pupils and have now been emailed out to all parents' emails.  Unfortunately, we still have a couple of parents who have not registered emails with school. If you are aware that you need to submit your email then please email over to school as soon as possible.

Study Ladder has tasks that I have set to consolidate learning.  This platform will give me valuable feedback on how children are accessing the platform and their completion of tasks.

Please note that spellings through curriculum visions should be visited each day for around 15 minutes. Children should use dictionaries to find definitions for words that are new or unfamiliar to them.  Each unit should take around two weeks, if children are to learn the spellings properly.

Keep your eye out for the First News Newpaper digital copy that will be sent out each week via parents emails.  Activities will be sent out too.

REMEMBER: Over the Easter holidays, you should be taking a break from your home learning. You can be ready for the new term on Monday 20th April, where you can complete any tasks that you have left.

New learning grids are available from Monday 27th April 2020!

Please stay safe.

Kind regards,

Mrs Brown

What's Being Said?

"I never thought that Westwood was so large inside! From the road, it seems so small. What a wonderful use of space. The school has changed so much over the years!" - recent visitor to school
