NANT BH STILL GOING AHEAD!

Dear Parents/ Carers

I am still intending to go to Nant BH on Monday as scheduled. Please make sure your child is packed and ready to go as planned. I have been liaising with Nant BH and although there is a lot of snow in the area, the Nant BH Centre is still accessible. If the coach is unable to make it up the steep hill, the staff will arrange 4x4 transportation to get everybody and everything safely to our destination.

Taking into account of the severe weather, it is vital that you take this into consideration by packing additional clothing. I strongly recommend some additional layers, socks gloves, woolly hats and a scarf. Several thin layers are better that one extra thick one. Please remember to name or initial all clothing! We still want to maximise our experience at Nant BH by spending as much time as possible in the outdoor environment so be prepared for the cold. In some situations, there is no such thing as bad weather – just the wrong clothes!

Nant BH will be providing leather walking boots, a fleece and waterproof bottoms and top.

As we may need to spend some unscheduled time indoors at Nant BH to warm up between activities or to wait for a bad patch of weather to pass, I am asking for children to bring one DVD with them as we may have time to have a group film or two. Naturally, I will try to avoid this kind of activity with the young adventurers but I may be forced to watch a film in severe circumstances. A rating of U up to PG will be acceptable.

Fingers crossed for no more heavy snow fall! Adventure is out there!

See you all on Monday.
