Dosbarth Derwen - Mrs Donaghy (Head of Foundation Phase) 2024 - 2025

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a great Summer and that the children are excited to come back to school. We are looking forward to welcoming them in to Year 2. 

Just some information for you regarding the first half term. Our new topic is called "Knowing me, Knowing You" and we will be doing lots of fun activities based around this with a focus on our Class story "Incredible Me".

In Maths, we will be looking at Place Value, Addition and Subtraction and Shape.

Our PE sessions will be on a Wednesday, and the children will need to come to school in their correct PE kits ( black shorts/ leggings/ joggers amd a white PE t-shirt with their school jumper/ cardigan. )

We  will be doing outdoor learning frequently in Year 2 but this will be as and when, and I will send you a message with enough time to organise wearing old suitable clothing for the outdoors. 

Just a reminder that snack should be water and fruit as we are a healthy school at Westwood!
