Westwood Remembers
Before listening to The Last Post, at 11a.m.today our school fell silent as the children remembered the sacrifices made by so many.
A wreath was laid at the foot of the Buckley Cenotaph by our Head Teacher Mrs Williams on behalf of the staff, governors, children and families of Westwood, children placed their beautifully decorated remembrance crosses in areas around the school building, class made poppies were planted and the children sang Abide With Me.
We are proud of the children for the respect they showed, and for their efforts to mark this Memorial Day as we remembered the men and women who have served and sacrificed to defend our nation and secure our freedom.
