Stockport Air Raid Shelters

Date: 11th Jan 2017 @ 8:45pm

We have been waiting for this trip with great excitiement and we were not disappointed! WW2 brought to life in such a fabulously fun and interactive way. It was really like being taken back to seventy five years to wartime; with authentic role play, artefacts and characters in the 1940's style in Stockport and the Blitz in Britain. There were over a mile of underground tunnels and shelters to explore, we saw just what it would have been like for people living in the time of the bombings and air raids of WW2. The children were excellent throughout and really embraced the experiences! Well worth a visit!Enjoy our photos and the video!

What's Being Said?

"I never thought that Westwood was so large inside! From the road, it seems so small. What a wonderful use of space. The school has changed so much over the years!" - recent visitor to school
