Young Voices February 2017 at Manchester Arena

Date: 13th Oct 2016 @ 12:38am

Note to Parents/Guardians,

Young Voices - Manchester Arena

We have secured places for pupils to sing in the 2017 - Young Voices choir performance at Manchester Arena in February. Letters have gone out to parents of pupils, in Class 7 and Class 8, who have displayed an interest in singing this academic year, to invite their child/children to perform. This educational visit offers children a fantastic opportunity to perform as part of a choir of approximately 9,000 school children with a full live band, backing singers and the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence, it makes for one of the most exciting and memorable musical experiences you can imagine.

Pupil places for this visit need to be secured for Year 5 and 6 pupils by Monday 18th October; to secure your child's place the consent form sent out with today's letter must be signed and returned.  Payment will not requested until December and we can assure you that we will do everything possible to keep the cost of transport as low as possible.

The children will leave school after an early lunch on the day and as the performance does not finish until 9:15pm we will not arrive back at school until approximately 10:45pm, however it is a Friday night which offers the children an opportunity to catch up on their sleep the morning after.

Parents are welcome to attend the final performance at Manchester Arena  - the performance will commence at 7pm in the evening and there is a charge for tickets which can be ordered by using  the form that was sent home with today's letter.

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to send a note into school with your child or request a time to see me. There is also a lot of information available on the Young Voices website at http://www.youngvoices.co.uk/about/young-voices/

Thank you

Mrs Brown

What's Being Said?

"I never thought that Westwood was so large inside! From the road, it seems so small. What a wonderful use of space. The school has changed so much over the years!" - recent visitor to school
