Y5/6 Apple Picking

SCRUMDIDLYUMPTIOUS LEARNING

A great effort harvesting the fruit crop of 2020,  well done Class 9 and 10

Apple picking in the school orchard today was top of our agenda. At just before 9am this morning, Class 9 and 10 took a walk down to the Westwood Apple Orchard, near our  Forest School,  where apples (most suitable for baking) were in abundance.

60 children competed to find the largest apple and great fun was had by all.  As the children picked so many large apples, they needed to initial them; weighing and grading the apples will be the next step in our quest to finding the largest and most delicious looking apple. The children will be reporting back on the total weight of this year's crop soon.

After the crop from the Forest School orchard was picked,  the children also did a bit of scrumping from the apple trees in the Foundation orchard, everyone managing to find a tasty golden delicious apple,  rich for picking and eating.

Enjoy the photographs, there will be more to follow, once they are uploaded from all devices used.
