Class 7 ~ saving the oceans, by Mrs Brown

Date: 26th Sep 2019 @ 4:43pm

Today, I had the pleasure of working with our Year 3/4 children in Class 7. We all worked hard, learning about the creatures in the world’s oceans  and the threats to some of the largest species we know.

Well done Class 7!  Your class ocean  and your stunning artwork is amazing. I loved the interviews filmed by James too. Fantastic!

 Enjoy the photographs.

Rosh Hashanah, by Mrs Brown

Date: 15th Sep 2019 @ 12:57pm

In Upper Key Stage 2 this week, the children had a wonderful time learning about, and experiencing,  the traditions surrounding Rosh Hashanah. This formed part of their studies relating to Judaism.

Huge thanks to Mrs Matter who spent her weekend baking typical Rosh Hashanah family friendly recipes to enable the children to experience a sweet start to the new school year.

Fantastic and well done Mrs Mattar and Mrs Hawkins for giving the children such a fantastic experience.

Should any parents want the recipes for home to experience this tradition for themselves, I am certain Mrs Mattar would be happy to share them.

Jenga problem solving in maths, by Mrs Brown

Date: 13th Sep 2019 @ 6:08pm

Great fun today using Jenga blocks to model maths concepts before problem solving.

A great way to investigate - if you have Jenga at home think about ways to use it,  using your maths eyes.

How tall is the Jenga tower?

How could children calculate the overall size of their tower without measuring its height with a ruler?

Can Sing Y6 and Y5, by Mrs Brown

Date: 26th Jun 2019 @ 10:59pm

What an amazing visit to CanSing in Wrexham's Glyndwr University today.  A combined treat of singing and Welsh language, and a rare opportunity to hear a gifted professional opera singer (all the way from Pennsylvania)  singing soprana - the aria sung in Italian was breathtakingly beautiful. Diolch yn fawr children for making it such a fantastic day, your enthusiasm throughout the whole event was infectious! Special mention to Dylan who  bravely went up onto the stage to participate in the drama at very short notice - fantastic versality and acting skills, well done. #making us proud!
